"Single" Wives

 

What's the point of getting married if you still have to do everything by yourself?

There are a lot of single women who take care of themselves 100%.  They pay their own bills, handle their own car maintenance, perform their own chores, etc.  It's something that has to be done out of necessity when one lives alone.

However, once they get married and enter a partnership, shouldn’t some of those things change? Shouldn’t a man take over some of those responsibilities?

There are a lot of women out there who are married, but are still having to wear a cape in order to get through daily life because they may have a lazy husband or a selfish one.  What happens when he makes you a "single" wife?

When it comes to domestic assignments, we’re a long way from the days when men pretty much worked exclusively outside of the home and the women worked inside. This isn’t 1960 any more. The dynamic in households has changed tremendously over my lifetime. Heck, most households don’t even have both men and women in the home these days, so there’s that, too.  But for those who do, how do you establish who does what around the house?
